There are tons of pics of this day and I am SO happy because I was a little out of it, had a reaction to my epidural, had my epidural wear off, I wasn't progressing, etc. so I am so grateful my amazing momma took all these. My parents are the best. They stayed there ALL day waiting for Mr. Tate to come. I felt bad it was taking so long. I went in Monday night to get cervadil, Dr. Boheen broke my water & started pitocin in the morning. I went all day & didn't progress past a 3 1/2. She thought he was going to be pretty big, & after I had been contracting all night & day, she thought it was best that we proceed with a c-section. I knew it was a possibility, but really still wasn't expecting it. I was fine with it, but got really nervous as they were wheeling me in. I was sooo excited to finally see my baby's sweet face, but I was so nervous. I've never had surgery or really ever even hurt myself. The worst I've had was stitches when I was 29 & I made my mom hold my hand for it! Everything went great though. I loved my doctor & my nurses. Anesthesia was so nice too, explaining everything that was going on during the surgery, especially after Bobby left with the baby. My epidural had worn off when I was waiting to go back (they had a walk-in last minute that had to go back before me), & I don't think my meds ever got caught back up because I could feel everything, which I knew feeling pressure was normal, but it hurt really badly still. I felt so much pain immediately afterwards too, & got a medication to help. It made me really loopy & out of it though. It was really scary & made everything so intense. I felt like people were everywhere, I couldn't focus my eyes, I felt like I couldn't even hold the baby. I guess to everyone else I seemed normal, just really quiet. Livy noticed that something wasn't quite right though, & she stayed by my side the whole time feeding me ice. It was so so sweet & definately made me feel better. I had a hard time remembering alot, but I didn't forget how she was right by me. It was a crazy experience, I really didn't know what to expect, but it was the most amazing day & experience of my life and I will never be the same. Tate is the most wonderful thing to ever happen to me. I have such an immense amount of love for him. I'm so grateful to my husband, Livy, & my parents for sitting with me all day & being there to share this wonderful blessing. Thanks again Mom for helping document the whole day in photos. It is so so special to me.
My cute mom brought me this worry doll because she knew I was nervous about everything. I actually made her this doll when I was little. I got the idea from when we would always drive to Arizona to see my grandma Nannie. There were always native americans on the side of the road selling beautiful jewelry, arrowheads, & these dolls that came in a little pouch. I really don't even remember making it, but I am quite the nerd & always made my mom little crafts like this. How cute of her to keep it! I really loved it & was so glad she brought it. I held it in my hand during my whole c-section. Between it & my sweet husband sitting right by me stroking my face I did okay.
This is one of my cute nurses Amy. She was showing me what the contractions look like on the monitor & printout. Emily was my other nurse, & was there when I delivered. They were both amazing & made it such a special experience for me.
Cute Liv was there & didn't want to miss anything. She took such good care of me too. She's such a sweetheart.
We got Liv a special big sister gift. It's a necklace with two little solitaire ring charms. One with Tate's birthstone, & one with hers. It's so cute & I'm so glad she loved it. Sometimes I don't have the cool factor with the 12 yr. olds ;) So I was so glad she liked it.
I have oxygen on because I had a reaction to my epidural. The epidural wasn't bad itself at all. Although I really don't think they should show you that thing in your childbirth class! The size of that needle is terrifying! My blood pressure went down to 60/30 & I felt really dizzy. Bobby & Amy were on it quick though, & gave me medicine to fix it. It was pretty scary, I started blacking out & felt really dizzy. It even made Bobby nervous, & he doesn't get nervous! It didn't take too long for me to feel better though.
She is so cute & photogenic :)
Liv took such good care of me feeding me ice all the time. It was so nice to have my little nurse by my side ;)
