Liv's first day of junior high

 

 

Liv is so grown up! We can't believe she's starting junior high! She looks older than 12 years old & she's definately not the dork most of us were at her age. She goes to North Layton Junior High. They wear uniforms there, so she & I went shopping & found some cute stuff. She was with us on her first day of school again, so I got to take her photo in the usual spot I've been doing the last few years. She came home telling us all about her new friends, her classes, she even has a 9th grade friend. We knew she would adjust great & we are so glad she is enjoying it! Love you Livers!

My birthday-32!

 

Happy birthday to me :)

I am so grateful to get to celebrate another year of my life with such special friends & family.

I am so blessed to have so many amazing people in my life. Thank you for making it fantastic!

 

My hubby brought these beautiful roses & balloon home for me that morning after he got off work. Yes the balloon says birthday diva, showing what he really thinks of me & my birthday ;) jk

Ash & Beau always tease me that I put up all my cards on the mantle, joking that I probably wrote half of them to myself & save them to put up the next year. They crack me up, so I had to take a pic of my cards :)

I didn't feel old at all until I looked at all those candles! It made me giggle cuz it is pretty well-covered there

You couldn't see my cute birthday dress in the other pic so I had to devote one exclusively to it. I actually bought this when I was still pregnant thinking "Oh this will look great after he comes out & I shed all that baby weight." Yeah, that happened! Still working on it, but the dress is dang cute!

 My yummy brownies my sweet momma made for my family birthday party. My cute parents always go all out & make us feel so special :) Bobby's cute parents got me a V.S. gift card & I got me the most cute & comfortable sweat pants ever with it! Thanks Bob & Sandi! Sweet Liv & Bobby got me two really cute pairs of earrings & some yummy perfume. I got pretty spoiled this year. Thanks everyone! Love you all! Thank you to Heavenly Father for giving me my most favorite present of all...

Dakota turned 4!

Our sweet Kota turned 4 years old on August 10th. Tessie & Zach threw him a super fun birthday at the pool in North Ogden. Tessie went to so much work decorating it so cute!! It was orange, blue, & had a surf theme. It was darling! Kota had SO many friends who came to wish him a happy day. He is pretty popular. I hope you had a wonderful day you sweet angelboy. Happy birthay! We love you!!

6 weeks old

 

 

I'm so amazed at how fast Tate grows, & all the things he has learned to do already. It might be common sense to alot of people, but he is my first baby & he really just amazes me on a daily basis!

 

Sooo...here's what is new with Tate:

 

1. He can hold his head up SO good. This actually started at about 2 1/2-3 weeks. My mom told me they are usually a little older when they do it that good.

 

2. He is SO alert! This started a few weeks ago too, but he sits & stares at things. He stares at our faces and we love it.

 

 3. He likes tv! He especially loves his baby channel. It has bright colors, lullabies, songs, animals, & he just loves it. We first noticed him looking at the tv when Bobby fed him his bottle. He would turn his head toward the noise & watch it. It's so funny. Kind of a bad habit to start so soon, but it buys me a few minutes when I need to take a potty break or eat. It also calms him down.

 

4. He is getting spoiled. He will be screaming, but as soon as we pick him up, or turn his show on for him-he stops...imMEDiately. Stinker.

 

5. He is nursing better. It's cool to watch him master the suck, swallow, breathe technique. It is amazing to me that babies immediately know what to do there. They are so helpless, but they can do this awesome thing to survive. They really are a miracle. 

 

6. He is sleeping better in his cradle. At first he would scream & scream & scream. I know it's fine to let them cry it out for a bit, but this one holds his breath & turns purple. Also, instead of the routine 10 minutes it takes most, he would cry for about 45 minutes & still not stop. Soooo, we pick him up, try burping, changing his diaper, snuggle, & then it's about time to start the whole process all over again. He is doing tons better though & now he just has an occassional rough night.

 

7. He is a big boy & has napped in his big boy crib in his big boy room several times. Our awesome monitor we got from Aunt Becky, our cousins, & Nannie has come in useful for that, since his room is at the bottom of the stairs.

 

8. He is pretty good with having a routine now. He usually goes about 3 1/2 hrs between feeds & sometimes will sleep 5 hrs during the night. Good job lil buddy!

2 weeks, 3 weeks, & a MONTH old!

About Tate....

Tater likes his baths mommy gives him. He splashes his feet & likes the warm water poured over his body. Lucky for Mommy he has only tinkled in the tub. No poopies....yet!

About Tate...

Tate loves to go on walks in the stroller. It puts him right to sleep. Too bad Mommy can't take him for walks at 3 am huh ;)

About Tate...

He is particular already. He HATES to have  a dirty diaper. His favorite is to get a fresh one, then immediately poop in it.

 

Other things Tate likes...

He hates to have his arms wrapped up, so this is the position he sleeps in.

And if he's really relaxed...

He looks like a little man!

Again, for some reason it won't keep my pics rotated. Anyways, Tate likes to sit in his bouncer & listen to it's music. He also likes the vibration.

 

 

 Tate loves to sit in his high chair so he can sit & watch us while we are in the kitchen. It's come in super handy too when he has a bad night. He's fallen asleep in there before & before we knew it, it had been 4 hours! He sleeps so comfortably in it, it's nice to have another option!

 

One month Buggy! How time flies! You get more fun & I seem to love you even more with every passing day. Thanks for letting me be your mom. You are my greatest joy.



Our stay at the Friedli B & B

First of all, I cannot tell you enough how much my mom has helped me through this. She is amazing. Having a c-section was a bit more tough than I thought it would be. Bobby took off a week of work too, but it went by fast with half of it being the hospital stay. He was scheduled shifts at Park City before we knew exactly when Tate would come. So my wonderful momma came & helped me bathe the baby, do laundry, clean the house. It was so nice!

 

 As if all that wasn't enough, she took me & Tater to her house while Bobby was working in Park City. That way he could get some sleep (he had been helping me tons with the baby too. He is a GREAT dad), & she could help me with the baby.

She let me stay in their beautiful new bedroom. It is nicer & prettier than a hotel! It is so comfortable & gorgeous. She decorates beautifully & still makes it so homey & comfortable.

My dad was hiking in the Uintahs with his work friends. He came back early though because he missed my sweet mom & he wanted to spend time with Tate. I LOVE this picture! It is so precious.

 Tessie works so much with Kota on so many therapies. Kota can now eat applesauce & yogurt! He can use his lips & tongue to scoop it off the spoon! He is amazing. It is so neat to see how far he has come. He really enjoys eating now too! It is kinda funny how much he loves it. I'm sure he's missed it! Way to go buddy!
