13 months

What's new with Tater??? Let's see....

1. Someone learned how to walk!!! I will include a video if I can figure that out :) He started out with this little mailman cart, & his Thomas the Train (courtesy of the Lythgoe's & Morgan's again).
Okay, it is not letting me on youtube at work so I will add the walking video another day.

2. He points at EVerything in his books. It is very cute. He also puts his head on the page of the book too, like giving it loves. I.e.-a kitty cat or teddy bear in his book (usually a stuffed animal picture), but he leans in & instead of kissing (which he doesn't do so freely anymore) he just puts his forehead on it. It is so sweet & very cute. I love my little love bug.

3.We think he might have a milk allergy. His poor bum is so sore! It gets better, but then flares up again, so we have tried getting rid of the whole milk. We were only mixing 2 oz. of it with 6 oz. toddler formula. Hopefully that will help.

4. He has been highly emotional this month. Unfortunately he throws a fit when I change his diaper, get him dressed, put him in his high chair, put him down on the floor-pretty much anything I do he throws a fit about these day :) He is still my sweet boy, but he has been extra challenging lately. I am pretty scared as to what years 2 & 3 will hold!

5. His molars have been coming in on the top for awhile, but still aren't all the way down. He is getting another tooth on the left side, his canine. Speaking of that, he LOVES to brush his teeth. It is so fun to watch :) He gets mad when I put his toothbrush down.

6. He still loves his nightly walks in his car. We have been going more because it hasn't been as miserably hot. I love this picture of him & Bobby. So sweet.

7. We got a bike trailer that I took him around in. I am not sure how much he loves it, but he looks cute in it & it's a great work out for me. A beach cruiser is not meant for the foothills of Ogden!

8. He loves to play with my refrigerator magnets. I collected a ton from my travels & just recently got them down for him to play with. He LOVES them, & I love that they can occupy him for a moment :)

9. His fave foods are raisins, yogurt melts, string cheese is a new one I think, & he LOVES the peaches off our peach tree (which is doing extremely well! This is it's 3rd year & it is doing great! I am so impressed with it-& us because it is still alive!). He also loves blueberries & raspberries. Those are new this month. And spaghetti. I have a cute pic of that. Which brings us to.....

10. His absolute favorite thing to do is to throw food, toys, anything on the floor. I cannot get him to stop.

11. His fave new toy is this cute Curious George monkey that Gramma & Grampa got him for his birthday. He sleeps with it every night & gives it tons of kisses. My sweet boy :)
Fave bathtub toys are still the water guns. The doggie one from Gram & the foam one from Dilly Dally's. He also loves this little book we've had since he's been born, but he's really taken a liking to it. It has different animals in it. Real pictures of them. He really seems to like the farm animal ones & loves to point to each one. We are working on learning them & their sounds, but I'm not sure how much he really gets because he always points to the cow :) He is so cute & smart though!
I am amazed at how much & how quickly he learns on a daily basis!

12. He loves the sandbox

13. Oh yes! I just remembered, he can stack the rings on this little turtle toy! His hand-eye coordination skills are amazing! He can also put the shapes into the right spot on this little IKEA block house. I am so proud of him!

14. I didn't want to end on 13! S let me think....he got another little boo-boo trying to walk :( On his cheek. He fell down onto the corner of the coffee table downstairs. I felt so bad everytime I saw it :(

Lava

These are not the best pics, but they were SO funny! My parents gave Tate this cute little Curious George backpack. We packed it up for his first trip to Lava & put it on him. It was huge & heavy. He looked so cute with it on though!
What an adventure! To be brutally honest, I will not be taking a vacay with children anytime soon. Tate did not sleep good at all. We stayed in our usual Riverbridge Inn that we love. I love this place because it has gold-flecked formica in the kitchen, just like at Nannie's old house in Roy; & brown carpet exactly like what we had when I was little at my parents house. It is cool & very retro. Well, we put the pack'n'play in our room, which happened to be the room with the bathroom. Sooo, we couldn't use the bathroom when Tate was napping or sleeping or even attempting the two. He was wild & up all night. He DID have a blast at the pools & loved the water. It was so fun to enjoy that with him. He has the cutest little body too in his lil swimming outfit my parents got him.
I think next time we will stay somewhere else, & maybe wait til he is a little bit older. I was stressed out & sad because my Grandma Nannie had passed away the night before, but Liv had been waiting to go to Lava all summer, & her friend was so excited to come too (Matti is our go-to Lava friend who has accompanied us several times. We have lots of fun memories there :))... I had to take a certification at work, write a talk, & work Saturday night too (& get a babysitter, which I hate to do, just to go to work :( )...I think I was just extra exhausted too because he hadn't slept or napped good for me at all the two nights before we left, then top it off with the trip & Mommy was spent :(
We tried though!

I saw this sign & thought it was hysterical!
Tater & Mommy at our favorite hot pools!

He LOVED this water table. He walked around it time after time after time, & loved playing in the water. He floated his little fire engine squishy toy all through it & played forever with it in the kiddie pool. I have to say for as difficult as it was, it was still really really fun to watch him enjoy everything so much :)

This is a picture of Tater at 6 in the morning. After we had been up all night :)
Finally we just decided to pack up & go home at 7:30a.m. because he was NOT going back to sleep. Look at this face!
It cracks me up :)

More Birthday Fun...and not so fun stuff

Poor Tater. The day before his friend birthday party, & 2 days before my family party he got super sick. He had gotten his 12 month check-up & a few vaccines. I think it was the MMR that made him so sick. He had been throwing up, & had a temp from Wed to Fri morning. It was 103ish on Friday afternoon, with alternating tylenol & ibuprofen, taking a cool bath, a dip in the cool pool, & nothing was helping. I went into the house to change our clothes & it was 104.5. He was so lethargic, just laying on my bed. It broke my heart. I was scared to death! I was out of my hospital setting & this was my very own baby so I was a bit of a mess. My sweet parents met me at an urgent care in Roy & we got him checked out. They were so helpful! I am so blessed to have such wonderful parents. Tater just laid on my mom's shoulder hardly moving. The doctor tested him for strep & it came back negative. He said they usually don't get temperatures that high with shots, but he thought it was from the MMR. He was so nice. He said he probably wouldn't get better too quick through the weekend, but if he was still that sick on Monday to bring him back in.
We stayed the night at my parents & snuggled in the twin bed in the "Grammy room." He didn't sleep good at all in the crib that night, so I laid him by me. He doesn't usually like to lay down by you in bed, so I have to admit it was kinda nice to just hold & enjoy him. I felt so bad he was so sick though :(
After a night of not much sleep, & a nap the next day he seemed soooo much better. Not himself, but not scaring me to death. We stayed the afternoon at Grammy & Poppy's & went home in the evening to spend time with Daddy (he had worked in Park City the night before & had been sleeping during the day). We got home & I went to get him out of his carseat & he was covered in poop!!! It was so gross & Everywhere! I couldn't tell if it was throw up or poop. It got everywhere. Bobby's a good dad & cleaned it up. I would have thrown up myself. I cannot handle poop!
Well, the next day he seemed to be feeling a little bit better so we decided to do his birthday party. I have had decorations up for about a month & had put a lot of work into his party planning so we had everyone come over for a potato bar & cupcakes. It was really fun. Thanks everyone for coming up & helping celebrate our big boy!
I will add more pics later. My mom took a ton, but I haven't been over there with time to download all her pics.
So more to come!

Monster banner I made, it actually turned out quite cute :)
